Nice little cafe in Brenham. Had the Pecan pie, talk about a little bite of heaven. One of the best slices of pecan pies I have had. We bought the whole pie. Definitely worth another visit.

Great breakfast, great service, pleasantly surprised.

Wednesday Chicken Fried Steak $6

Nice little place. Most of us enjoyed the food, burgers sandwiches, etc. The kids were on the fence with theirs. The French Fries and and chips were too spicy. I would not recommend if you have picky young eaters. We had 4 kids, 5 and under. We adults loved our food. I am looking forward to the leftovers.

Fried mac and cheese is the best comfort food ever.

Have been eating Cali's delicious food since she was off of 290 aat the gas station! Always wonderful!

Stopped by for a quick lunch. I had the caliburger which was big and delicious. My wife had the stuffed avocado...again large and in charge and super good. The service staff was excellent and the place has a cool vibe very relaxing atmosphere and there's a bar area in the back with pool tables. And very reasonable prices. Overall I recommend this place.

I very seldom give 5 stars, but I love this place. Loved our waitress too. First time here and will definitely be back with the rest of the family.

Stopped by for lunch as my friends and I were doing the Bluebonnet Wine Trail through Brenham. We waited at least 30-45 minutes for our food to come out after ordering, which wasn't ideal but they said that they were very busy. The food was pretty good, but not necessarily a place that i would go out of my way to visit again. I ordered a 1/2 sized burger (I think it was the mexi-burger, or something similarly named) with avocado, jalapeno, cream cheese, and mayo...I thought pico de gallo may have been listed as an ingredient, but it wasn't on the burger that I ate. Fries were hand sliced, but a tad burnt/fried for too long. Otherwise, it was fine.

They have a great gluten free bun and great burgers - be sure to get extra napkins for the Ugly Coyote, it’s great!

I really enjoyed the homestyle breakfast, everything was very tasty. Home made biscuits and gravy, potatoes, bacon...all good! Coming back for more next time we are in Brenham. There is a billiards room next door too.

This quaint bakery and cafe is a gem. It had country charm and looks like it could be lifted right off the set of a movie featuring small town TX. My wife had breakfast and it was delicious. The biscuits are a must try! I got a bacon cheese burger--thick slab, delicious bacon, I might add--and was very pleased. The fries were awesome! We went at 11:30am and got seated right away but the place was busy and there was constant traffic. Very friendly and attentive service.Only complaint is that it was smoky where we were seated. I think it was from the billiards upstairs. Still, this was a great experience overall and my wife and I would definitely go back and bring our friends and family! P.S.: They had fun with their menu. Read it all just for laughs!

Great chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes

This place has amazing food and down home hospitality. We loved their homemade bread and omelets for breakfast. Everything was made from scratch! Friendly servers and even got a chance to chat with the owner. Reasonable prices and fantastic selection of food options.

02/16/19- breakfast around 1000. The place is small and was packed, we got the last table. Waitresses were pleasant. Service was a little slow due to the number of full tables, but not a problem. Scrambled eggs were fluffy, eggs over hard were fine. Potatoes were very good and so was the thick bacon. Giant pancake was also fluffy and good. The very hard, very cold biscuit and lukewarm gravy might've been good a half hour before we arrived, but it just sucked when I attempted to eat it. Wasn't able to trade it for a better one as our waitress was busy. Most of the food was good, but check your stuff before the waitress gets away!

Cute place but waited an hour to get food. Other people that came in after us received their food before us. The Wisconsin grilled cheese that I ordered was supposed to have thick bread. It did not, thin bread and one side was burnt. The fries were soggy. The children’s burger was also burnt, both the meat and the toasted bread. Don’t recommend the place.

Just Wow. The eggs, the bacon, the home made bread perfectly toasted. What more can I say than wow.

Was not cooked properly sis sent bacon back raw they brought it back same way ordered my eggs omw white were runny and snotty ask if I could get chicken instead of pork she said ok then when I paid it was 8 dollars xtra bad meal will not go back. Once before was there forgot toast when we ask for it they charged us when competition comes to town they are going to hurt with their greed

Not a good Smittys experience this morning. Service was less than quality. One order was messed up (chicken biscuits) and someone actually came out to tell us it was going to be messed up because they don't know how to follow directions (asked for honey butter on side, they put it on the biscuit anyway). The biscuits on that order were dry and chewy when they did come out. On the other order, bacon and sausage were fine, but the pancake was burnt to a crisp and inedible. Never saw the waitress again after we got our food, and upon going to pay for the meal, nobody asked us how the meal was or seemed to take notice that neither me or my friend had not eaten most of the food. There just seemed to be a lack of caring today. I'm not planning to come back to Smittys in the future.

Good food and friendly service. This place had some great southern food options and a great cookie selection. The bar in the back had several pool tables and looks like a nice place to relax. We had lunch on our visit, but I bet breakfast is a real treat. Would visit again!

Some of the best southern hospitality I've experienced in Texas. I held a motorcycle ride here for brunch today (the day before Easter, 2019) I had given them a heads up about a month early, making sure they could accommodate 10+ motorcyclists for brunch on a Saturday. They promptly replied and were happy to take us! So the day before the ride and brunch, I sent another confirmation and was then called by the Owner, letting me know that they had a situation where they were going to be closed for the day...... BUT that they would open JUST for us!!! How unbelievably nice is that!? We got there and they let us in, gave us GREAT coffee and truly delicious brunch! I cannot wait to get back here with my family. Thank you again for an amazing time!!!

Took a ride with my husband to Brenham today which is one of my favorite towns. After he visited with a Customer, we hunted for a place to get a bite to eat. Came across Smitty's Cafe and decided to give them a try. I give them 5 stars. Very laid back and the food was the best country cooking I've had in a very long time. If you're looking for some great home cooking, this is your place!

Excellent place for breakfast in the heart of downtown Brenham. Service was absolutely top notch and everything was cooked to order just the way I like it. By the way, if you like fresh fluffy biscuits and a good hearty cream gravy as much as I do it is a must when you visit! Some of the best I have ever had. Definitely a 5 star place and I plan to return regularly.

The service was a tad slow, but otherwise was excellent. My cob salad and my wife's sandwich were absolutely delicious. We stopped here on our way through town and I would recommend this to anyone wanting a delicious bite.

We had breakfast on a Saturday and it was AMAZING!! The service we so good and the food was like I would get in my grandmas kitchen. I love that they use a variety of coffee cups. We will be back.

Our favorite breakfast stop on the downtown square. A little off te beaten path but worth it. A little wait because everything is cooked to order.

Have been here for lunch on three separate ocassions since we moved here. We have tried chicken fried steaks, fried catfish, cheeseburgers, French fries, fried okra, strawberry shortcake, and 3 different cookies. The food was promptly delivered and tasted delicious. The restaurant was clean and uniquely decorated, the service was outstanding. We were greeted and checked on by very attentive waitstaff throughout out our meal. My wife and I have been pleased each time.

Smitty's was a great place to get brunch. Their french toast was so yummy and had a nice crisp to the edge of it. My mom got the d-lite breakfast and was very healthy lol.

Decent Breakfast in a charming old building on the town square... the one drawback is that the place smelled like cigarette smoke due to the shared bathrooms with the pool hall in the same building. At least no one was actually smoking in the restaurant or the closed pool hall during 8am breakfast.

Great home style breakfast, home made biscuits, gravy, potatoes, everything was very good! Service was great! Next time I’m in the area, I’ll plan on another breakfast here.

Super tasty breakfast, you can't go wrong with anything here. My wife got the early bird plate and I got the French toast plate both amazing. Reasonably priced, good service, highly recommend.

Come hungry! What a burger menu. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. WOW! so delicious, but I couldn't finish it. Even there little bitty salad bar was great. All very fresh ingredients. Ima coming back!

Best place for Sunday brunch in Brenham. Food is fresh, cooked to order, and always good. Plenty of seating, good for families and a friendly wait staff. NOTE: This is not a "fast-food" joint. Don't be in a rush.
